This month we are delighted to interview the incredible sister duo from By Sarah London, a B Corp certified natural skincare brand changing the face of beauty. Lori had the pleasure of meeting Lauren and Sarah a few years ago, and anyone who knows of them will understand how inspirational they are.

Sarah: By Sarah London is the multi award-winning natural skincare collection by founders and sisters, Sarah and Lauren Murrell. Their story began when Lauren was diagnosed with a life-threatening form of leukaemia - with only a 20% chance of survival. During months of chemotherapy, total body irradiation and eventually a life-saving stem cell transplant from Sarah, her skin became very sensitive and reacted to many natural ranges. In a bid to help her, Sarah developed innovative, natural skincare formulas that transformed Lauren's complexion, and led to the launch of By Sarah London; natural, effective, cruelty-free skincare formulas that are Dermatologically Tested and proven to strengthen the skin barrier and support the skin's microbiome. Plus, they're a certified B Corporation.
Lauren: We have always been close as sisters, though we could never have anticipated the journey ahead after my cancer diagnosis. Running a company together has been our greatest chapter so far; we laugh all the time and that really helps after a long day (or week)!
Sarah: Overcoming disappointment and rejection has strengthened our resilience - and that's absolutely necessary when starting your own business. Things aren't always going to go to plan (*hello Covid and Brexit*) and becoming familiar with uncertainty and change is all part of the process. You'll need plenty of passion and buckets of courage to keep going.
Lauren: My favourite is the Hero Facial Oil which won the "Best Facial Oil" as voted by the Independent Best Buy Awards for the second year in a row. I’m so proud of Sarah for formulating such a beautiful facial oil that is loved by even the most stressed, sensitive skin. Lauren: That's a tough one! We are so proud to have picked up numerous industry awards for our skincare, been featured on ITV's This Morning for the third time this year, and being stocked with Sephora. It’s been such a journey for us both, but we’re really only just beginning. There’s so much more to come!!
Sarah: Our community! Our wonderful customers and community truly are at the beating heart of everything we do. All the heartfelt emails, deeply-thoughtful reviews and messages inspire new product ideas to new ways of running our business.
Lauren: My journey has shown me that anything is possible. From months of protective isolation in hospital when being treated for leukaemia, to being an entrepreneur today, you never really know what the future holds. But I passionately believe everything happens for a reason and there is a lesson in every moment of frustration, fear or triumph.
Sarah: As sisters, we have big dreams, and we still get goosebumps seeing our skincare across social media and loved by customers around the world. We're currently working away on something BIG for the near future, stay tuned!
